In today's always-on world, high availability is the primary barrier for enterprise adoption of the cloud for mission critical applications. Because, when moving from traditional IT to private cloud, there has been a tradeoff between elasticity and availability. For this reason, only applications that do not demand high levels of availability have been moved to the cloud.
This paper presents a flexible OpenStack enterprise-class solution that puts availabilty on the platform layer, protecting both the cloud layer and application workloads from downtime.
